What is Factory Auto Maintenance?

What is Factory Auto Maintenance? There are some things in life that you just shouldn't skip. Breakfast, for one, and factory scheduled auto maintenance is another great example. Just like breakfast gives you energy to make it through the day, factory auto maintenance is key to keeping your car healthy day in and day out.

Why is auto maintenance so important?

If you check your owner's manual you will find an auto maintenance schedule that details when and what services your car needs. These services are important because they will help prevent breakdowns resulting in a need for expensive repair. By paying a little for auto maintenance you can save a lot over the cost of extensive repairs. So what does auto maintenance consist of?

Oil Change

Oil changes are the bread and butter of auto maintenance. They are the most frequent service that your car will need. Most vehicles need one every 3,000 to 5,000 miles to ensure that the motor remains properly lubricated.

Fluid Services

Your car uses a number of fluids to operate its various systems. From time to time these fluids need to be drained and refilled, called a fluid flush, to keep their respective systems working right. This includes a coolant flush, power steering fluid flush and differential flush.

Belts & Hoses

Belts and hoses under your hood are worked extensively and need routine inspection and the occasional replacement. This is all part of normal maintenance necessary to resolve wear and tear issues.

Transmission Service

Transmission service includes draining the transmission fluid, removing and cleaning the transmission pan and reinstalling it with a new pan gasket before refilling the tranny with fresh fluid.

30/60/90K Maintenance

Other services will fall under 30/60/90K maintenance. These are check up appointments needed every 30,000 miles to replace spark plugs, air filters, fuel filters, conduct safety checks and more.
